This morning we enjoyed reading the article “La mejor de las condenas” [The best of sentences] by Raquel Ugarriza, published on Deia.com. In her article Ms. Ugarriza tells about the trip that inmates from the prison Nanclares de la Oca took to the Guggenheim Bilbao last week. She says that the exhibition Cai Guo-Qiang: I Want to Believe caught the attention of the group, and that some of the works most commented on by the visitors were Bilbao’s Rent Collection Courtyard and Head On. According to Ms. Ugarriza, the inmates’ visit was coordinated by the Guggenheim Bilbao’s education department, which aims to widen the access to modern and contemporary art by hosting events for groups in risk of social exclusion. You can read the entire article (in Spanish) on Deia.com.
